How so? I think that Apple smartphones are better at things. And Samsung smartphones are better at others
However Samsung smartphones are known to be more affordable than Apple smartphones. In my economics class we were discussing phone brands. Some people switched from Apple to Samsung. When asked, they all said the reason was the price
I do not own an Apple smartphone. I never had one. I stick to the same provider
Most people who buy iPhones and such are ostentatious. They seek the prestige of owning an iPhone. It is a flex. I noticed it especially in middle and highschool. People are proud to own iPhones. I find it stupid because they do not even make full use of their phone capacity. I never understood that. It's like buying an rtx 5060 to play solitaire. Not that I dislike solitaire, but if I'm only sticking to it, I'd rather use my money on something that's going to be more useful than an rtx 5060
I think that they call this phenomenon conspicuous consumerism. I don't believe that I engage in such a practice. Maybe I do. But I don't think so. If I did I wouldn't dress like a hobo like my mom says
Apple products are superior for some cases. But I don't believe that an iPhone camera is a necessity to film some teenagers Snapchat videos or whatever they're called

I don't use my iPhone for the camera. I rarely take pictures. I use a phone that's overpowered and I don't have problems with. It only lags when it's 1% or overheating. I don't play any games, it's not built for that because it overheats. It can run any game. I like how the App Store is a blog. I like how developers optimize every app for the iPhone. Apple makes their own processors. An iPhone only needs 4gb of RAM to be smooth. Samsung smartphones are horrible at everything. They don't last long. iPhones are loved for their performance. Samsung produces a massive wave useless smartphones that are just to test features, and don't last more than a year. They cater to corporations not people. Green text. iPhone doesn't put an ugly key like Android and doesn't show that you're using a VPN, unless you open the control center. It's perfect for screenshots. Apple shortcuts are useful. Samsung phones don't hold value. They sabotage their phones with updates to force you to upgrade. Samsung installs random games without your permission.

That's fair I guess. I've never heard about Samsung installing random games
What I like (or liked) about Samsung/ Android was sideloading. But I think that installing apks won't be as easy as before? Unless you have developer options enabled. But some apps aren't compatible with these, do you have to keep switching it on and off. It will probably be annoying
Other than that there's nothing much. Samsung phones are more customizable maybe. I don't use my phone for heavy gaming. I do that on my pc
I never had an iPhone so I can't really give a detailed comparison

I want a girlfriend
I like anime and games
I am in college
I am currently looking for a perfume that smells nice and for good quality cigarettes. I like perfumes that smell like wood. Cedar. And I like perfumes that smell like the ocean. But I don't find these perfumes. I only find stuff like fruits and flowers. I dislike those smells. They feel way too sweet
I like the smell of cigarettes. I like smoking alone. It feels soothing
I have an important test tomorrow and I didn't study. I'm trying to study right now but I can't focus. I don't think that I will study. I hope that I pass

No I did not want to end the conversation. I just feel that since you have both devices you are probably better suited than me to compare them
I don't really know how much people download apks actually. I thought it was fairly common when I was younger. But then whenever I talked to people I knew they didn't know anything about these. They never knew about cracked/ hacked games and stuff. These were Samsung users
Even now it happens. Last year I taught someone who was my friend how to download apks. For reference that person is my age. I found it baffling to be honest. I wonder if it's just that this was the wrong crowd
I also think that people who own iPhone and other Apple items are more likely to pay for apps and premium services, since they have more money. So they wouldn't really care about getting a Samsung device for the apks

Yeah, it's baffling how little technical skill most people have. I guess you're 20-25 y/o? We're basically the very last members of the most computer-literate generation, who all did a good bit of troubleshooting. Before, computers weren't common enough to gain that experience. On the other hand, computers today are so sanitized (especially smartphones) that kids and teens have no idea how they work, despite using them from birth.

Yes I am. I feel like their ignorance of how computers work is alarmingly dangerous
When I was younger I actually believed that computer literacy classes will become mandatory seeing how much technology we used in our lives. It's clearly not the case
Maybe children nowadays take these devices for granted or something like that. They do not need to learn how it works. It worked since the first time they used it, and it will keep working just fine. Or something like that. So they don't see any use in that. It's like playing with a lego set. Most children who play with lego sets don't actually think about how lego pieces stick to each other so well and things, they just know that they stick to each other. Grown ups usually know how this happens, but it's not because they thought about this. It's because they saw the mechanism in different setups give the same result, or they studied it (the mechanism) somewhere. In class, or on their own. This obviously can't be reproduced for phones and computers
As for old people, they probably just conceive phones and computers as advanced tools. Technological sorcery. They probably believe that it would be too hard to look into this stuff, so they don't try to begin with. Well, some old people wouldn't get how these things work anyways. My parents are bad with phones and computers

Is there something wrong with ignorance? They could go to jail if they possess and/or upload real cp. Their logic is objectively safer and better for survival.

Now that I think about it, the widespread ignorance might not be that big of a deal. In the end, computers are tools; using the tool is not the goal but a means to achieve the goal. Like with the legoes, it doesn't really matter how they stick together as long as they do. And when you don't need to constantly troubleshoot, you can focus on the actual task.
Of course that sometimes leads to funny situations, like the young adults these days getting their first job and not knowing what a file is. But then LLMs solve this issue as well.
Or actually maybe not. It might be more about the mindset that is forged in the face of constant inconveniences, that you will not give up just because of the smallest difficulties. Basically the mindset that every working person must have to not require constant direct supervision. Maybe the sanitized computers prevent this mindset from developing in many people, mores than ever, especially since we spend so much time on the phones.
Just my two cents.

It depends. People mostly deal with the content - documents and photos. It's irrelevant that they are stored as files. On the phone you have a gallery of photos, in google docs you have a gallery of documents, not a "folder/directory" of "files". You never "upload" anything, you just share it. You never "download" any images, you just save them and they automagically appear in the gallery. That's basically the interface of a smartphone. Now imagine you've only ever used a smrtphone. Your colleague suddenly tells you to download the email attachment, work on the file, and send it back.
> What is a file? I clicked "download", but nothing happened. What do you mean "it's in the Downloads folder"?

Is it safer? I'm not sure. Since wolves can harm someone without a specific reason (meaning one that is accepted by society, like killing someone in an act of self defence), ignorance exposes you to danger
Someone might attack your device. You are ignorant. Thus you do not notice the attack. The attacker can do whatever he wants. He can mine crypto using your computer. He can pretend to be you and do bad stuff. He can even use your device for distribution of illegal material. You can get in trouble
Ignorance does not spare you of trouble. And knowledge is not always used to achieve malevolent ends
>>164798
It is true that such a behavior does not always cause immediate harm to the person. But I believe it is shame. People have working brains yet they refuse to think. Is a life like that fulfilling? Asking Claude or whatever you use whenever a problem arises. Aren't they making themselves more and more stupid this way?
I don't know. I think that thinking/ questioning stuff actually gives you some dignity. At least you have done something in this life by yourself. Something that is peculiar to humans. A hallmark of your humanity. But if you're going to accept everything as it is. I don't really know how to phrase it, but it's weird. Your only value is your manual/ material worth. You are no different than the bulls used for plowing, or the machinery used for making cars
I must admit that I sometimes envy these people for their stupidity. If you are stupid enough you can easily be happy. All those people desire are material pleasures. Like sex and money
I don't really mind seeking these things. But it must be driven by some sort of idea or meaning. There has to be a thought process that ultimately led you to this. If so then I find it acceptable. But if you ask these people, a lot will answer that they do it because they feel good. And they are not even convinced of their answer. Well. At least they are not miserable. I guess

Hello, mr dots. accept my friend request to you on discord. I know you are a 36 year old man in toronto, you are attracted to little girls. Anime is your only source of happiness, you are a doomer, you dislike capitalism and think the end is coming. You own multiple anime figures. Your family knows you are a pedophile and you take medications. You spend hours watching anime to keep yourself alive, and to try to distract yourself from the attraction to children.

That doesn't make any sense. Phones have search engines. Why don't people use them? Self defense isn't truly accepted by society. It's not something most people would do. It is a violation of a social rule but people take the path of least resistance on expression. That's why they're wolves like you said. Sheep and some wolves can only do minor self defense with their body.

Why would you question something that is perfect? That's considered hate. Besides imageboards and a few fringe sites. Everything is censored.
